Nicole Scherzinger Covers Shape December 2011: “I Eat A Lot”

Nicole Scherzinger covers Shape Magazine December 2011/ January 2012 and tries to convince them her slender physique is from eating carb-laden peasant food.

Scherzinger looks great on the cover; slim, but with some shape to her. There’s an arrow pointing to her butt, as though you can miss it in a bandage dress. And the bolt-ons add some curves too. It’s a very stripped bare cover, light on the make-up and the accessories. But it was probably either this or swimwear so it’s slightly more imaginative.

In her interview, Scherzinger appears to be admitting some kind of disorder or body image issues although she doesn’t articulate exactly that. She talks about counting calories at a young age and her food issues worsening once she became famous.

“I started jogging and counting calories when I was just 14. I’ve been on every diet you can imagine.”

“By the time I was in the Pussycat Dolls, I was on the scale all the time. It became my enemy because I noticed that when I exercised really hard, I’d gain weight. Now that I’m in my 30s, I’ve stepped off the scale. I just go by how my clothes fit. Actually, I eat a lot! [I] stay active, eat in moderation, and stop[ped] being so tough on myself.” - via Shape Magazine.
