Miley Cyrus covers Marie Claire Magazine September 2012 for whom she’s working her Pilates body and the cheekbones no one knew she had (moreover, someone finally figured out how to photograph her bone structure without making her face look so round). Inside the issue, Cyrus, 19, says she’s not so interested in marriage as the commitment she and fiance Liam Hemsworth are making to one another.
On whether she’s too young for to be engaged: “Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with. I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement.”
She won’t offer specifics about the engagement, saying only: it was a ”complete surprise.”
On her 3.5 carat hand-cut diamond from the 1880s set in a yellow-gold band: “I had no input. We’d been kind of talking about [getting engaged], and I saw something like it online at one point and thought it was really pretty, but I usually wear rose gold. I just love that it’s old and has a story. And I’m happy because it doesn’t look like anything else I wear.”
On jealousy within the relationship: “Liam and I have a really good relationship. Neither of us is super-jealous. We know each other and would never do anything to hurt each other.”
On the privacy within her 8,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style home: “It’s kind of like a black hole. And no one is going to f**k with me when P. Diddy lives right across the street.”
On whether it’s weird living in a home that belonged to her parents: “If Liam is traveling and I’m feeling creeped out, I can go to my parents’ [nearby home]. Or I’ll walk over there in the morning for coffee. It’s really weird [sleeping] in my parents’ room. Now it’s my room, and Liam is at my dad’s sink and I’m at my mom’s. It’s really strange, but also really cool. The first time I ever met or hung out with Liam was here. When he first moved to America, he didn’t have any family here, so our family became his. This is where all our memories are being made.” -
On one of her dogs misbehaving: “She’s a stubborn little b**ch, that one,” Cyrus says of her bulldog, Ziggy, after the dog ate two Jacquie Aiche bracelets. “She doesn’t listen to me. She’s in love with Liam. She loves me when he’s gone, but she totally ate my diamonds on purpose. She was pooping them out all morning!” via Marie Claire Magazine.
