Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, 28, got married this weekend at his home in Palo Alto, CA in front of less than 100 friends and family who were unaware they’d been invited to a wedding.
Chan wore a simple white wedding gown by an unspecified designer. Zuckerberg reportedly designed a “simple ruby” wedding ring for his bride. Guests were told they would attend a supposed surprise party for Zuckerberg’s girlfriend-of-nine-years, Priscilla Chan, 27, whom he met at Harvard University, to celebrate Chan graduating with a Medical Degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine ahead of her residency and specialisation in pediatrics.
Chan graduated Monday, also Zuckerberg’s birthday, and Facebook went public four days later making Zuckerberg worth $19 billion. Prompting speculation that the wedding was timed to circumvent $16.9 billion in community property issues with the IPO. Which isn’t possible since the IPO date wasn’t known until days beforehand, whereas the wedding was planned nearly five-months ahead of time.
