Johnny Depp & Vanessa Paradis Confirm “Amicable Separation”

This is only news today, and it will be news in this week’s tabloids, because there’s confirmation from reps rather than the source conjecture of months ago.

There were rumours early January on RadarOnline.com that Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis had split and he’d since moved on to Eva Green mostly thanks to his supposed “mid-life crisis.” Into which no one really read, because Paradis was quick to dismiss the rumours as hearsay. Asked by French tevlevision show Grand Journal, Paradis said at the time: “It’s false, of course it’s false! People say we are buying houses in the middle of nowhere, or that we have fifty two houses in France. All [of those rumors are] not too serious, but this latest one is a rumor which could cause a lot of harm to my family and my children. These magazines end up in the fireplace or the toilet.”

However, the split covered People Magazine soon after expounding how Depp, 49, and Paradis, 39, were living separate lives for months while co-parenting their children together Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, 9.

And now there’s rep confirmation that they’re separated. Depp’s publicist, specifically, told Entertainment Tonight: “Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have amicably separated. Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children.”

A source tells RadarOnline that Depp isn’t coping: “Johnny isn’t handling anything well right now.”

Another source tells People it wasn’t an easy decision: “They’ve tried for months to save the relationship, but have known for weeks that it couldn’t be saved.”
