On an episode of TMZ TV, last week, the staff opined that Jessica Simpson had given birth weeks ago. Supplanted by the Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt engagement news, TMZ surmised that Simpson had stifled the birth announcement until a slower news week when she’d be guaranteed a magazine cover. Which was a completely plausibly theory at the time.
Simpson made two tabloid covers in April, dubious ones. OK! Magazine declared Simpson’s unborn daughter “beautiful” and spoke about her first day as a mother that hasn’t happened yet. And In Touch Weekly spoke of delivery drama when she may not deliver for another few days or weeks yet. And it’s enough to fool her own fans, who are skimming the tabloids and congratulating the singer. About which she tweeted: “To everyone who keeps congratulating me on the birth of my baby girl…I’m still pregnant!! Don’t believe what you read ladies and gents.”
