Jessica Simpson’s baby shower was over a week ago and she sold the photo rights to People Magazine in the US and to Hello! Magazine in the UK, the latter photos for which are below.
Reportedly, Simpson sold the rights for $90,000; loose change, in celebrity shill terms. And she’s trying to sell the first baby photos for $1,000,000 although it’s not known whether that has any offers.
The baby shower spread is underwhelming. Candids taken on the day showed paparazzi hovering by the windows of the venue and, although guests were requested not to take photos inside, there are innumerable pap photos showing the arrival of the celebrity guests. So, $90,000 seems low, but security did a poor job of shielding the event from paps or maintaining the illusion of exclusivity so perhaps it’s deserved. Moreover, she lost the People cover to lame The Voice judges. So there’s that.
“I feel like I could pop at any second,” [Jessica Simpson] tells this week’s HELLO! magazine, revealing she has gained 40lbs and counting.
“I had a great pregnancy. Eating and not having to worry too much about it has been fun. Taking a break from working out has definitely been fun. But I’m ready for it to be over. I’m ready to have my body back!”
Jessica, 31, celebrated the last phase of her pregnancy by throwing a lavish Hollywood baby shower inspired by her favourite children’s book, Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White.
Guests included her actress sister Ashlee, who came with her three-year-old son Bronx, and actress Jessica Alba, who brought along her seven-month-old daughter Haven. They took part in shower games, such as guess the size of Jessica’s belly, and knitting lessons.
