Britney Spears covers Elle Magazine October 2012 for which she’s wearing leather Versace for photographer Alexi Lubomirski while very, very heavily Photoshopped around the face and upper arms.
The 31-year-old tells the magazine, she would have panic attacks over and over at the start of her time on X Factor. Of which Simon Cowell admitted on TMZ Live, yes, Spears nearly quit on the first day after 20 minutes of work. It was reported at the time, she just walked off for a mental health break as allowed in her necessarily-permissive contract. However, says Cowell, she nearly didn’t come back: “No one is going to admit that on the first day your highest paid star after 20 minutes has walked off set. [Britney] had a moment on the first day where she said to me ‘I’m not sure I can do this.’”
On her fashion sense: “I love my jeans and my sweats. I’m really just a tomboy at heart. So it’s really hard for me to be like Kim Kardashian and be makeup and hair ready every time I go out of my house. I’m not a believer in that, you know?”
On whether she ever slums too much: “When you do wear those sweats, you’re like ‘Oh God, I should step it up a notch.’”
On being in the public eye: “I guess I’ve been under the microscope so long that I don’t even pay attention to the nonsense anymore. I gave up getting upset about things people make up about me a long time ago.”
On her early days as X Factor judge: “[I was] extremely nervous. I was having panic attack after panic attack.” - via Elle Magazine.
