This weekend, TMZ.com claimed that Blake Lively may have “secretly” married boyfriend Ryan Reynolds. There were no leaked wedding photos, no leaked wedding license, no other firm proof. Instead, we got conjecture based on a police report.
Reynolds filed a police report July 8 after claiming that he was being followed by a paparazzo. A police officer came to make enquiries and spoke to the actor and Lively. In the officer’s report, there were multiple references to “Mr. Reynolds and his wife” whose name had been redacted. The name is assumed to have been “Blake Lively.” But the couple is only boyfriend and girlfriend.
Bedford PD were reticent about the officer’s mistakes when questioned by TMZ.com.
E! News was first to rubbish TMZ’s premature claims of a “secret wedding.” E! sources insist the pair is not married and the police report is “wrong.” TMZ later rebutted, with heavy edits; admitting its own errors/ assumptions, no, the couple is not married.
