Blake Lively covers Elle March 2012. She looks pretty, exceptionally so, in her shoot. Which is great, since modelling is all she’s going to have to fall back on if her nearly tanking a Soderbergh movie is anything to go by (the money ran screaming at unconfirmed rumours Lively had been cast, when in fact Rooney Mara had taken the role).
In her interview, Lively talks about her love life; one of the few things keeping her relevant (despite reaching its 100th episode, Gossip Girl started in high school and is already marrying off and knocking-up its cast so its shelf-life feels finite).
Lively claims “I’ve had four boyfriends in my whole life,” which requires suspension of disbelief if only because she claims to be 24-years-old despite looking a lot older up close and ageing only about 18-months the last four years. One can assume her number includes ex-boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio and current boyfriend, on to whom she jumped right away, Ryan Reynolds.
On whether or not she’s sleeping around with famous guys to boost her career: “I’ve had four boyfriends in my whole life. I’ve never been with anyone that’s not a boyfriend. If I spend time with a man, it’s because there’s somebody that I know well who has been a friend for a while.”
What?: “I’ve never gone on a date. Maybe I’m too shy. If I’ve ever had a man in my life, it’s because I know him well, and he really means something to me. I don’t take that stuff lightly. I’d rather be by myself than be spending any time or energy on somebody that I didn’t feel sure about.”
On wanting babies, then making a transphobic slur: “I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they better be trannies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated.” – via Elle Magazine.
