Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt landed their Monday-release People Magazine cover as anticipated.
This is the kind of release afforded the British royal wedding, other A-list weddings, and the deaths of A-listers. Such a cover will also be reserved, on a Monday, for the Jolie-Pitt wedding. Certain other celebrities, the Snookis, the Jessica Biels, may land covers but they’re not Monday covers. And their weddings will not be bumper/ special issues.
In any case, the cover offers a better look at Jolie’s engagement ring. Which People surmises is worth $1 million with a total of 10-carats around the yellow gold band (last week, Us Weekly claimed the ring was $250,000 with a center stone six-carats all its own).
Jeweller Robert Procorp told The Hollywood Reporter, in what one can only assume were permitted soundbites: “The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality. Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration. He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so I was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suite Angelina’s hand. Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality.”
